The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with a return to Chelsea following their FA Cup win over Everton, with reports suggesting Modric has only a few months to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Sources close to the 27-year-old have told ESPN FC that Modric was not in Chelsea’s plans to sign a new deal this summer and that his options are limited.
Modric’s contract is due to expire at the end of the campaign, but Chelsea have been keen to secure him for the rest of the season, with his contract reportedly worth around £80 million.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was quoted as saying that he was not interested in bringing Modric back, while his former assistant Marco Verratti said that the midfielder had not been offered a new contract.
Chelsea’s future in the Premier League is uncertain following the loss of Eden Hazard and the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, and Mourinho is yet to announce his squad for next season.
Chelsea have made several changes to their squad this summer, including signing Juan Mata from Manchester United and signing Juan Cuadrado from Barcelona.
