‘The Hobbit’ director: The ‘best’ thing to come out of the film’s prequel trilogy

By Steve LitchfieldIn a wide-ranging interview with the Telegraph, The Hobbit director Peter Jackson has revealed that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first part of the trilogy to feature a female lead, is the film he is most looking forward to seeing.

The film’s release date was also revealed, with Jackson stating he has “a lot of faith” in the film and it’s “very much a part of my life”.

In fact, Jackson revealed that he would have to be careful not to overstep his boundaries by playing characters that were meant to be female.

“It’s a bit like ‘The Matrix’, you don’t want to have too many women in your world and so you do that,” he said.

“But when you do, there are those moments that are like ‘Oh my God, I think I’m going to have a bit of a problem’.”

I’ve got a bit more faith in it, so I think you can really do a lot with a very limited amount of actors.

“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, released in 2008, has been widely criticised for the lack of female characters and the fact that its main character, Smaug (Gwendoline Christie), is a man.

Jackson, who said he didn’t “have much patience” for the film that followed, also admitted he was surprised at how little time he was given to the female lead in the films The Hobbit trilogy.”

I think I was really surprised by the amount of time that was given and the amount that we were able to get away with it,” he admitted.”

You have a certain amount of control, a certain degree of control you have with how you’re able to do certain things.

“That’s a very good thing.

I can go, ‘This is the way it is.

We’re not going to be making a lot of excuses.'”

He continued: “I think the thing that we did do well was make sure that we didn’t leave any room for the audience to be offended.”

The first movie, when we were going to start making The Hobbit, I did a lot more than the first two movies.

“For the first time in the trilogy, there’s a female character.

We had some female characters, we had a very clear story.”

And I think that was a really good thing.

“Jackson, however, is currently working on the follow-up to The Hobbit that is due out on September 18.”

There’s two stories about orcs, and there’s also two stories that were told in the first trilogy that you can read about, but it’s a trilogy, so there are things that you’ve got to put in place before you can go and see it.””

There’s a film that’s very much about the first film, but there’s some other stories that are a little more complex.”

There’s two stories about orcs, and there’s also two stories that were told in the first trilogy that you can read about, but it’s a trilogy, so there are things that you’ve got to put in place before you can go and see it.

“He also hinted that he could revisit some of the original characters in the upcoming film, which he said was “pretty much a prequel” to the original trilogy.

Jackson said the fact the first Hobbit movie was filmed at the same time as The Hobbit films 3 and 4, which are due out in 2019, made the second film “pretty amazing”.”

So we just started shooting again, and we did all the stuff we’d done before.””

And so when we got to the end of shooting, we started to look at the next movie, and then it was time to start again.”

So we just started shooting again, and we did all the stuff we’d done before.

“The Telegraph contacted Jackson for a comment on his comments.

He has yet to respond.
